Swipe to combine matching numbers on a 4x4 grid and build the ultimate golden 2048 tile before you run out of space.
How to play
- Swipe or press arrow keys to slide all tiles in one direction across the 4x4 board.
- When two tiles with the exact same number collide, they merge into a single tile worth double the points.
- Keep merging tiles to build progressively higher numbers like 128, 512, 1024, and eventually 2048.
- Plan your directional moves carefully to ensure you always have empty spaces for new tiles to spawn.

More about this game
Your goal is to reach the golden 2048 tile by combining matching numbers on a 16-cell grid. Every time you swipe, all tiles slide as far as possible in that direction, and matching numbers merge into one tile with double the value. Your score increases by the value of every new merged tile. After every move, a new 2 or 4 tile spawns in an empty spot. The run ends when the board is completely full and no more moves or merges are possible.
Tips
- Try to keep your highest value tile locked in one of the four corners to prevent smaller numbers from getting trapped behind it.
- Limit your swipes to only three directions to keep your main tiles safely grouped together.
- Remember that every time you move, there is a 90 percent chance a 2 will spawn and a 10 percent chance a 4 will spawn.
Questions
What happens when I reach 2048?
When you create the golden 2048 tile, you win the game! A victory screen appears, and you can choose to click Keep Going to see if you can reach 4096 or 8192.
How do I lose the game?
The game ends when all 16 spots on the board are completely filled with tiles and there are no adjacent matching numbers left to merge.
How is my score calculated?
Your score increases by the value of the newly created tile every time you merge two numbers. For example, merging two 16s gives you 32 points.
