More about this game
Shade Seeker is a visual perception puzzle where your goal is to identify the one tile that does not match the rest of the grid. You begin with three signal points and a simple two-by-two array. Every correct choice increases your score by 100 points plus a 25-point streak bonus. As you advance, the grid expands up to eight-by-eight, and the lightness difference between the odd tile and the normal tiles shrinks by a factor of 0.9 per stage. The run ends when you lose all three signal points.
Tips
- Take your time scanning the grid. There is no timer, so you can carefully compare the lightness of each tile without rushing your decision.
- Protect your streak multiplier. A wrong guess not only costs one of your three signal points but also completely resets your streak bonus back to zero.
- Prepare for the grid to expand. Every two stages, the array grows larger, eventually reaching a maximum size of eight-by-eight tiles with a minimal 3.2 shade difference.
Questions
How is the score calculated?
You earn a base of 100 points for every correct tile you find. You also get an additional 25 points multiplied by your current streak, which resets if you miss.
How does the game get harder?
The grid size increases every two stages up to an 8x8 array. Additionally, the lightness difference between the odd tile and the normal tiles decays by ten percent each round.
What happens when I lose?
The run ends when you lose your three starting lives. The result screen will display your final score, the stage you reached, and the exact lightness difference you survived until.
