More about this game

Heartlines is a visual novel where you read through an unfolding story and make decisions that influence the outcome. Your choices affect your affinity with five characters—Akari, Sora, Hana, Yui, and Reina—adding up to a maximum of 20 points each. The game tracks your relationships on a Story Map, showing how your decisions shape the narrative path and unlock specific branches like the Rainy Errand or Last Train. A run ends when you reach the end of the available chapters, but you can restart to explore different outcomes.

Tips
  • Some choices require a specific level of affinity with a character to unlock, so focus on building trust early.
  • You can turn on autoplay to have the dialogue advance automatically after a 1500-millisecond delay.
  • Use the log button in the top menu to review previous dialogue if you missed an important detail.
Questions

How do I unlock new routes?

New routes are unlocked by making choices that increase your affinity with specific characters. The Story Map shows which routes are available based on your relationships, with a maximum of 20 points per character.

Can I go back and change my choices?

Yes, you can use the back button to return to previous dialogue, but choices already made remain saved. You can also restart the entire story from the map menu to try different options.

What does the autoplay button do?

The autoplay button automatically advances the text after a short delay, so you don't have to click or tap for every line. The default delay is 1500 milliseconds, allowing you to read at a steady pace.
