More about this game
Ryan’s Vision Spectrum Wheel is an interactive study in perception. The goal is to explore six different visual perspectives by tapping slices of a circular wheel with an outer radius of 430 pixels. Each selection alters the screen's visual effects, demonstrating how light, shadow, and color can shift perception. The experience is open-ended, allowing you to freely switch between perspectives like Typical, Jack, Owen, Lisa, Amelia, and Ryan. There is no win or lose condition; the run continues as long as you choose to explore.
Tips
- Notice how the visual effects alter the entire screen, such as the 7 by 11 grid of shifting fragments that appear when you select Owen's vision.
- Pay attention to the three dark spots and the rippling prism effect that bend perception when you switch to Lisa's unique visual perspective.
- Look closely at Ryan's reflection to see the nine shimmering threads that reveal understanding gained after an assumption falls away in the darkness.
Questions
What happens when I tap a slice?
Tapping a slice triggers a 980-millisecond transition with 9 prism ripples, changing the visual perspective to apply unique effects like glare, shifting fragments, or persistent light, and displays a description.
How many perspectives are there?
There are six unique perspectives to explore on the wheel: Typical, Jack, Owen, Lisa, Amelia, and Ryan. Each one features a distinct color and a specific visual effect overlay.
What do the different visual effects represent?
The effects are symbolic interpretations of perception. For example, Amelia's vision shows persistent light using deep indigo and five faint circles, while Jack's vision balances blinding white glare and deep shadow.
