Until It’s On Your Doorstep is a narrative game told across eight alternating chapters. You guide Owen as he navigates accessibility in the gym, and Lisa as she sets boundaries around her identity. In each scene, you read a scenario and select one of two dialogue choices. Every decision awards specific amounts of Resilience and Empathy points. Sometimes, characters like Ryan or Sally will confront you directly, generating a unique response based on your current stats. The run ends after chapter eight, calculating your final meter balance to determine the ending.
Tips
- You can click the inactive character's thread button at the top of the screen to peek at their current story arc and portrait state.
- To unlock the "Grown into my bones" ending, you must reach at least 10 points in both Resilience and Empathy by chapter eight.
- Keep your meters balanced. If the difference between Resilience and Empathy exceeds 6 points, you will miss the best ending even with high scores.
Questions
How many endings are there?
There are three distinct endings. "Grown into my bones" requires balanced high stats, "A door held closed" triggers if only Resilience reaches 10, and "The echo remains" happens if your stats fall short.
What happens during a live confrontation?
In chapters three and six, characters like Ryan and Sally will reply directly to your choice. The game uses your current Resilience and Empathy scores to shape their exact response.
Can I fail the game?
You cannot get a game over before chapter eight. However, making choices that leave your Empathy below 10 or heavily unbalanced will result in a less resolved narrative conclusion.
