More about this game

Neon Tic Tac Toe is a turn-based strategy match played on a 3x3 grid containing nine empty cells. Your goal is to place three of your X marks in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line. You compete against a computer opponent playing as O, which responds to your moves after a 520-millisecond delay. The round ends immediately when either side secures three in a row, or when all nine cells are filled, resulting in a draw. The game tracks your ongoing score across multiple rounds.

Tips
  • Take the center cell early if it is available, as it connects to four of the eight possible winning lines on the board.
  • Watch the computer's moves carefully; on the default expert difficulty, it uses a precise algorithm to block your attempts to win.
  • If you cannot secure a win, focus entirely on blocking the opponent to force a draw, as the computer rarely makes mistakes.
Questions

How do I win a round?

You win by placing three of your X marks in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line across the grid before the computer opponent gets three O marks in a row.

Can I change the difficulty level?

The game defaults to an expert computer opponent, but the background parameters allow for easy or balanced modes where the computer makes random moves up to 28 percent of the time.

What happens if all cells are filled?

If all nine cells are filled and neither side has three in a row, the game announces a Neon draw and no points are awarded to either score counter.
